WHO WE ARE

We are First Place Learning, LLC!

"I decided to start this childcare business in our home to provide quality care for children in the surrounding community."

First Place Learning LLC was founded in 2022 and opened in 2023. I started this business to fill a gap in quality childcare in the Manchester, PA region. I have always enjoyed working with and caring for young children, and I have a degree in early childhood education. My passion is to provide individualized, quality care to young children in a safe, healthy environment. In my experience working in the field, I have found that the traditional childcare model has inherent challenges because of the lack of staffing numbers per child. This creates a more exposed environment to illnesses and lack of focused development.

"Thank you for visiting my website. I appreciate all of your support. I look forward to providing quality care to your children and watching them learn and grow everyday."

- Laura

OUR ORGANIZATION

First Place Learning LLC will offer quality care in a safer, cleaner environment with smaller group sizes to foster the individual needs of all children.

We are determined to provide a quality childcare

The childcare industry in Pennsylvania is facing many challenges. After the Covid-19 pandemic, the illness rate increased, due to higher group sizes and the inability to stay on top of cleaning. Short staffing and inexperienced workers have led to poor quality care, which in turn has decreased the number of applicants and made it difficult for childcare providers to find qualified employees. Because of this, pay is low and there are not enough resources available to meet the needs of families. This leaves many children without quality care and creates a hardship for parents who need reliable and affordable child care.

How we are going to help in this matter

We will nurture children’s ability to learn at a higher capacity by keeping the group size smaller and giving one-on-one attention to all children. This will provide a more focused and challenging environment for learning and growth. With a smaller group, staff will have the ability to consistently focus on the main programs that assist early learning by keeping the structure and repeating practices. We will also have a strict illness policy and cleaning routine to ensure proper health and safety standards are met.
